About Catherine
A registered psychologist with over 10 years experience working across a broad range of mental health issues and clients. Starting out my career working within the community setting, I went on to work with adolescents and young people for many years in both an education and community setting. In private practice I have worked extensively with young people and adults. These experiences across broad range of client issues have contributed to my development as a holistic, well rounded psychologist.
Client centred approach
Building an effective therapeutic relationship is key for me, with my primary aim being to create a safe environment that allows you to feel comfortable to open up. Following a client centred approach, sessions are collaborative and focus on issues that are of greatest concern to you. Drawing upon a range of different therapeutic models, skills and frameworks, your therapy journey is tailored to your needs, drawing on your strengths, with the overarching goal being to assist you to live an authentic life.
Specialist areas
My areas of interest include mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, behavioural issues, Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental issues and social issues, with my approach encompassing elements of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Narrative Therapy techniques.
